Amanda Braam is an 18-year-old singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Her performances range from Riverfest Elora, the Fergus Grand Theatre’s Six String Nation Guitar Showcase, Sunset Session’s pop-up concert in Downtown Kitchener, and Pioneer Park Library’s Summer of Song Event Series. She recently won the Dorothy Shoemaker Songwriting Competition’s instrumental category and Western University’s Musician competition in the songwriting category. She’s participated twice in the Musician in Residency program, which is run through the Kitchener Public Library. It is here where she learned much of her knowledge regarding music production. Broadening her scope of musical ability allowed her to independently release her debut album “ladybug basement” in January. This fall, she will be attending Wilfrid Laurier University in the Bachelor of Community Music program.
