The SJR Trio is the KW area’s funnest group of musical improvisers. Comprised of trumpeter Steve Haase, pianist Jason White, and percussionist Ray Kitney, SJR serves up toe-tapping jazz standards and heart-thumping improvisations, beloved by music lovers of any age.
Steve Haase is an internationally acclaimed trumpeter and a former member of the US Navy Band in Washington DC.
Jason White is active at the forefront of musical and interdisciplinary art-making in Waterloo Region. He is seen regularly at The Jazz Room, commissions new works from composers around the world, and freelances as a composer for various theatrical projects.
Ray Kitney gets audiences out of their seat and dancing to the beat as the drummer in The Black Forest band.
